Ark. Senator Says Bailout Needs More Oversight
Sep 24, 2008U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln says she's concerned that the Bush administration's $700 billion plan to bail out the financial industry includes little oversight by Congress. The Democrat from Arkansas said in a letter sent to Senate Banking Committee leaders yesterday that any bailout package must include more oversight and accountability than the plan proposed by the Bush administration.
Lincoln also said that the package must include limits on the salaries of executives whose companies take advantage of the government bailout.
