Quorum Court Approved Road Millage

The White Co. Quorum Court approved a raise in the county road millage that should bring in an additional $200,000 for road repairs. The issue here is not only road repairs, but bridge repair and replacement in the near future.

White County has well over 100 single lane bridges that need attention and there is some question as to whether the increase from 1.2 mills to 1.8 will be enough. As it stands now turns White County has one of the lowest road millage rates in the state and the largest county road system to maintain.
