Food Prices Slow to Fall
Nov 14, 2008Looks like it will take some time for food prices to catch up with falling gas prices. According to the Arkansas Farm Bureau, the cost for a thanksgiving meal for a family gathering of 10 in Arkansas has gone up almost $2.00 from last year, averaging about $39.00.
Travis Justice with the Farm Bureau says current food prices reflect the cost of packaging, processing and distribution which were near record levels during harvest and production time this year.
