DOT Wants More Bridge Inspectors

The Arkansas Transportation Department says they need to hire some new bridge inspectors as many are on their way out, near retirement. The Arkansas News Bureau reports that the average inspector in the state has been on the job close to 30 years. Randy Ort with the DOT says there are asking legislators for funds to hire 20 assistant inspectors over the next year.
