Helicopter Crash Kills AGFC Officer In Cleburne Co.

Still no official word this morning on what caused the helicopter crash in Cleburne County. Killed in the accident was Game and Fish Sergeant Monty Carmikle from Heber Springs.

The accident happened around 1am Sunday morning, Carmikle and pilot Jerry Fryar were out looking for poachers when the chopper went down near Sawmill Road. The pilot was hurt in the crash but his injuries were not considered life threatening. Carmikle had been with Game and Fish 23 years.
