Santa Paws is Coming to Town

Nov 18, 2008

Dogs, cats, ferrets, snakes and other pets in the area should be making their lists and checking them twice and of course, should be on their best behavior because Santa Paws is coming to town. Santa Paws will make his Searcy appearance Saturday, Nov. 22 courtesy of the Searcy High School Future Business Leaders of America Club (FBLA).

Santa Paws, also known as Saint Nick Ginardi, will be in town from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ideal Office Machines, 110 Main Street in Downtown Searcy. This will be the sixth year that Santa Paws will be visiting the good pets of White County.

I really enjoy handling and taking pictures with all the dogs, cats, snakes, and ferrets. Being in Searcy High’s FBLA organization has provided me with an excellent opportunity to help the Humane Society and Paws Inn, Ginardi said.

Pet owners will receive a 4x6 digital image of their pet with Santa Paws in a greeting card for a $5 donation.  Donations will be divided between the Searcy Humane Society and Paws Inn No-Kill Animal Shelter.

Santa Paws is just one of the Searcy FBLA Club’s benevolent activities according to club sponsor Debbie Latimer.

We also do Angel Tree and the Thanksgiving food drive. Santa Paws is an event that is fun for the kids. Santa Paws and our other projects gets the students involved in community activities and gives them a sense of helping others,  Latimer said.

Pet owners having questions about Santa Paws should call Latimer at 501-268-8315 or email her at dlatimer@searcyschools.org.
