Liquor Licenses Appearing in Lonoke Co.

Nov 18, 2008

Though Lonoke County was officially voted dry back in December of 1937, changes to the liquor laws now allow restaurants to apply for liquor permits. Joan McCoy with the Arkansas Leader reported this week that the ABC has been busier than ever looking over applications in Lonoke County.

Two new liquor permits have been issued in Cabot including one for the Kopan Korean Restaurant and two more applications are currently being reviewed. The private club liquor regulations were changed for Lonoke in 2003 to promote more business and tourism in the region. Having a liquor license means restaurants are more likely to succeed since most make a large share of their profit on beer and wine sales.
