First Baptist Church Searcy is pleased to welcome Matt Fike as new Student Minister along with his wife Kelly.  Matt comes to First Baptist from Highview Baptist Church in Louisville Kentucky where he served as Student Ministry Intern. He is a graduate of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary where he earned a Masters of Divinity with a concentration in Christian Ministries.

Matt expressed his outlook for the Student Ministries at First Baptist by sharing, “We want to continue to be a vehicle for parents and students to grow together in becoming more like Christ and that parents and students will impact their world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.” He continued by saying, “We want to launch students into the rest of their life as whole Christian men and women. We want students to understand that following Christ is a way of life, not just an act performed on a certain day of the week.”

Pastor Brian Whitney shared, “On behalf of the FBC family, I am most excited that God has led Matt to serve on our ministry team.  Matt and Kelly have hearts dedicated to Jesus and a passion to encourage and energize students to be all they can be for God’s glory.  Both inside and outside the walls of the FBC fellowship, the Fikes will make a difference.”
