Congratulations to Hunter Niece for being selected as this week's Searcy.com "Player of the week" presented by Chick-Fil-A. 

Niece, 10, plays first base for the Kiwanis baseball team and was nominated by head coach Billy Weatherley.

"Hunter is an awesome all around player," Weatherley said. "Not only is he a great player but his attitude is always uplifting. He encourages the other boys if they are down, he's always respectful to everyone (not only the coaches) and shows a wonderful Christian attitude in everything he does."

"I have really enjoyed playing baseball this season," Niece said. "It's been a lot of fun."
