BEEBE, Ark.:– Arkansas State University-Beebe is proud to announce that beginning with the Fall 2020 semester eligible high school students will be able to take endorsed concurrent enrollment courses at a new lower tuition rate of $125 per eligible course.
Endorsed concurrent enrollment courses include general education and career-focused courses that may be offered at partnered high schools, on ASU-Beebe’s campuses, or online.
This new lower concurrent tuition rate aligns with the Arkansas Concurrent Challenge Scholarship created by Act 456 of the 2019 legislative session. This law authorizes use of excess lottery proceeds to fund the Concurrent Challenge Scholarship to pay up to $250 per semester to cover the cost of concurrent tuition. Although the lower tuition rate is offered to all high school students, only juniors and seniors who attend a school district with a signed memorandum of understanding with ASU-Beebe may be eligible to receive scholarship funds to apply to their concurrent tuition. Proponents of Act 456 said the intent was to provide incentive to high school juniors and seniors to plan for college and get additional career training before they graduate.
