BEEBE, Ark. – The Arkansas State University-Beebe Searcy Campus will join with hundreds of industry and manufacturing centers across the nation in celebrating and recognizing National Manufacturing Day on Friday, Oct. 4, 2019, by hosting an industry expo at the campus. This year’s event is co-sponsored by Simmons Bank.
ASU-Beebe Searcy Campus has invited area industrial and manufacturing entities to display their equipment, products and materials at the college from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In addition to the industry displays, the event will provide ASU-Beebe students and the public an opportunity to hear directly from the companies regarding training/education, job market, potential salaries, and more. Starting at 10 a.m., participants will have the opportunity to tour the campus and talk with students and instructors in the various shops and training programs. Exhibitor displays will be open for tours and information and Simmons Bank will be providing food and refreshments beginning at 11 a.m.
“This expo event celebrates our partnership with industry in our six-county service area, but it is also an excellent opportunity for those unemployed, or under-employed individuals to come visit with industry representatives and learn how easy it would be to start a new career in a high-wage, high-demand field,” said Kendall Casey, interim dean of the Career Education Division at ASU-Beebe.
Participating exhibitors include: SEMCO, Sunrise Marine Center, Gregg Orr GM Superstore, Georg Fischer, Welsco, Land O’Frost, Altec Industries, Saint Jean Industries, Unity Health, and Crow-Burlingame Company. The second-generation “Be Pro Be Proud” mobile workshop trailer, a joint project of the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce and the Associated Industries of Arkansas, will also be on site for demonstrations and tours.
The ASU-Beebe Searcy Campus is located at 1800 East Moore Avenue in Searcy. The industry expo booths will be located in the Student Center in the Main Building on the campus.
