Searcy. Ark – Downtown Searcy is a great place to express yourself creatively. From the Art Alley to the various art studios, there are countless ways to let your imagination flourish. The latest addition to Searcy’s growing arts scene is an all-inclusive, walk-in art studio that offers a safe space for people to slow down and paint.

Located in Downtown Searcy, Melt Art Studio offers a space for people of all ages to come and experience creativity through the painting of pottery.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit back in 2020, the owner of Melt saw it as the opportunity to move her pottery shop to a more artistic, tight-knit community. Across the street from Art Alley, the studio is in a prime location for art lovers. Along with Melt, the building is home to many other artistic endeavors such as AJ’s Art Studio.

“I opened Melt Art Studio to be a place for people to have a fun environment to paint, create, and celebrate,” says Tammy Morris, owner of Melt Art Studio.

Melt offers a variety of services for people of all ages. One of their most popular services is painting pottery. To express your creativity, drop in and pick out the piece of pottery you want to make your own. After painting the piece, simply leave it to be fired and glazed for pick up in 4 to 7 days.

The creativity doesn’t stop there. Melt offers many other great services such as clay hand-building and mosaic painting. Clay hand building allows customers to build their own pottery to their own satisfaction. The pottery will then be fired and glazed and customers can return to paint it.

Special events like Storytime are geared towards getting younger children involved. The studio also offers clay hand and footprints to capture babies’ milestones. Melt is a great place to celebrate a child’s birthday whether that be an in-studio-themed party or with the to-go art kits they offer.

“My goal when opening the studio was to have something for all ages, from babies all the way up,” says Tammy Morris.

Melt is not just for children. Events like Date Night and College Night offer college students a discount to paint pottery on budget.

Though it is primarily a walk-in studio, Melt offers reservations for birthday parties, bridal showers, team-building events, and more. Friends Night Out is available to those who may want to reserve the space for a smaller, more intimate group. Along with event nights, the Studio offers workshops called “Creating with Melt” that allow patrons to learn new pottery techniques.

Melt can be found at 213 W. Arch Ave., Suite A in Downtown Searcy. They are located in the same building as AJ’s Art Studio and Zoe Photographic Group.
